Exclusive Interview with Andrew Cook of A Rocket To The Moon

Q- How would you describe your band to someone who hasn't heard of you or listened to your music?
A-Good times, upbeat, feel-good rock n roll.

Q- What makes you guys different from every other band out there?
A- I think we incorporate a lot of influences that other bands don't touch on, like pop country and old school rock n roll stuff.

Q- What song of yours would you recommend to someone who hasn’t listened to your music before?
A- Probably "Dakota."

Q- Who writes all the songs? Where do you get inspiration for the songs?
A- Everyone does, and we take inspiration from all things in life.

Q- What has been your biggest challenge so far as a band?
A- Surviving on the road. I think that's every bands biggest challenge.

Q- How did you come up with the band name?
A- Nick did a couple years ago. He just thought it sounded cool!

Q- What has been your favorite show to play and why?
A- Probably any Chicago show where our A&R guy Johnny and our managers Josh and Gregg are there. I love playing for them, and Chicago audiences are some of the best fans out there.

Q- How do you get pumped up for a show?
A- I warm up and listen to music I love.

Q- What’s your favorite and least favorite thing about performing?
A- My favorite thing is the actual act of playing music and seeing the way it makes people feel. There is no bad part about performing.

Q- Who is someone you would like to tour with?
A- Tom Petty!

Q- Out of all the songs you've recorded/written which is your favorite?
A- " no one will ever get hurt."

Q- What do you hope ARTTM is doing/accomplishing in a year?
A- Hopefully headlining and playing to more fans and writing some great new music!

Q- How does it feel to be apart of a tour that sold out in one day? (the ATL tour)
A- Pretty awesome! Those shows are going to be intense and packed with energy. Can't wait!

Q- What are you most looking forward to about tour?
A- The intimacy of those shows, due to the smaller rooms.

Q- What can people expect from ARTTM this tour?
A- An energetic, fun set full of songs you can sing along and freak out to.

Q- You’re also playing some shows with Hanson this week can you tell us anything about that experience (or what you’re excited about for that experience depending on when you answer the question).
A- It's been so fun. Their fans are really cool and respectful, and we are learning a ton from watching them play every night.

Q- Any upcoming plans in the works for ARTTM we should know about?
A- I think you know it all as of right now!

Q- Anything else you’d like to include about ARTTM?
A- Check out the deluxe digital single for "like we used to" on iTunes! And thanks so much for supporting us. We love you all!
