Who am I kidding this is my site I have unlimited room to talk about this book! But in the interest of keeping your attention I'll keep this short and sweet!
Risky Business is one book in Nicole O'Dell's Scenarios series. The best way to think of this series is as the equivalent of the Choose Your Own Adventure series, but instead of choosing what physical path the characters go down you get to choose what moral path each character goes down.
In the first story in this book- Molly and her friends are faced with the dilemma of whether to steal some beautiful dresses from Molly's job for a holiday dance at school.
The second story follows Kate a character who begins the story lost after her father's passing, her sister's marriage, and her friend's move. She later finds comfort in her passion for swimming, but is faced with a moral dilemma when her swim mates offer her energy drinks and pills to help her perform better.
Both of these scenarios are no doubt scenarios most teenage girls confront, which is the genius of these books. Some books present characters who aren't relatable or unrealistic for the average teen. Others create overly crazy plots lines that would never happen in real life, but O'Dell's apparent understanding of the teenage girl's mind makes this a great read! The added benefit of conscious guidance makes this book a certain "kid tested, parent approved" choice.
Overall I would highly recommend this book for any young female- teenage or adult- everyone has something to learn from this fun, quick read.
Let's be honest. I probably don't know enough about this situation to be posting this, but it has to do with freedom of speech and seeing as I am a huge supporter of freedom of speech I find it important to pass along this little controversy regarding Living with Lions new album Holy Shit.
Apparently there was some controversy over the choosen album artwork for said new album, which was released May 17th. Posted below is the statement released from the band yesterday May 24, 2011.
A statement from Vancouver’s Living With Lions, regarding the recent controversy over the artwork to the band’s new album “Holy Shit” (Adeline Records):
The content of our artwork for our new recording was created out of our passion for satire and absurdist humor. The lyrical and musical content of this record does not contain any commentary on religion, nor does it use a pejorative or malicious voice against any particular group of people (excluding possibly some of our ex-girlfriends).
When the idea came up to simply alter the artwork for HOLY SHIT without having to expedite the repayment to FACTOR (The Foundation Assisting Canadian Talent on Recordings), we chose to entirely return the money so that HOLY SHIT can forever remain true to the original format.
The debate about government funding contributing to potentially controversial art is neither new nor truly resolved; but when the offended public complains, the politicians habitually remind groups like FACTOR, the NEA and the Arts Council that they can pull the plug rather than encourage discourse or scholarly debate.
We would like to thank our fans, friends and family for their continued support. We'd especially like to thank some of our newer fans in the media whose stance(s) on free speech has been really influential:
"Only a fool would think that censoring and gagging someone is equivalent of changing their mind." - Ezra Levant
"I'm a mad believer in free speech and standing up to those who want to stifle free speech and impose standards of expectations." - James Moore

It was your typical blistering hot summer day in South Carolina on Sunday. People drinking bottles of water and fanning themselves trying to keep themselves, but that didn’t seem to matter as people lined up in front of the barricade waiting for The Downtown Fiction to take the stage and We The Kings following after The Downtown Fictions set at the Spartanburg Spring Fling in Spartanburg, South Carolina.
Going to this show was a spur of the moment thing that some friends and I found out about just hours before they were supposed to go on stage. We found out by just listening to a somewhat local radio station who was participating in the festival. The bands did not mention this little show at all until just a few hours before. It was a free show that the Spartanburg radio station B93.7 had sponsored for the festival. Not only did they have The Downtown Fiction and We The Kings play at this festival, but they also had Hot Chelle Rae playing the Friday before, The Ready Set played that Saturday, and Kris Allen playing after We The Kings.
The Downtown Fiction took the stage first, but only where able to play four songs because it took so long to get set up and they had to stay on schedule. Even though they only played four songs they still played with as much passion and enthusiasm as if they were playing a regular show on their tour they had just ended the day before. They connected with the crowd and got everyone jumping around and singing along. Their short set included their songs Best I Never Had, She Knows, Your Voice, and I Just Wanna Run.
After The Downtown Fiction finished playing We The Kings took the stage and started their set off with one of their older songs Skyway Avenue. This songs definitely got everyone pumped and had everyone jumping around and singing along at the top of their lungs. With all the songs they played from different albums you could tell how their sound has changed, but at the same time it stayed true to who they are as band and the things that all of their fans love about their music. Along with playing their own songs they also did a cover of The Middle by Jimmy Eat World because it is one of Travis’ favorite songs. Even though it wasn’t their own song they still did an amazing job covering it and the crowd loved it no matter if they were 22 like my friend or girls in the crowd who were 14.
Their set list included:
- Skyway Avenue
- She Takes Me High
- Friday Is Forever
- We’ll Be A Dream
- The Middle (Cover) - Jimmy Eat World
- Secret Valentine
- Check Yes Juliet
As it was announced We The Kings and The Downtown Fiction are going on a summer tour together along with The Summer Set, Hot Chelle Rae, and Action Item. It was like the small show Sunday was a little sneak peak as to what is to come with the summer tour and I can say if that’s the case then their summer tour will definitely not disappoint and everyone who is going to a show will have a fun time.
What do you think of the new album cover?

All Time Low is a must see band. Whether you’re crushed in the front row, moshing in the middle or watching comfortably from the back, you are sure to have a good time! The guys know how to entertain and crack funny jokes.
They played a very high energy show to keep the crowd jumping. The lighting added to the fun. It made me “feel like dancing.” One of the highlights was when Cassedee Pope from Hey Monday came out to join and sing “Remembering Sunday.”
I highly suggest going to see All Time Low live.

Q- I'm loving these seasonal conversations we have. Last time we talked was back in the winter, what have you been up to since then?
Haha, seasonal is a good way to describe it. I've been working hard on the new line, it'll be coming sometime in 2012. I've also been doing school, of course. I've kept myself pretty busy.
Q- You said something about a new line and new products. What can we expect from your new stuff?
I think you can expect to see a lot detailed work. The previous line was pretty much a cookie cutter design slapped onto a shirt. The new designs have a lot more time put into them. You can definitely expect to see some themes in the new designs, a lot of things that inspire me such as constellations and maybe some feathers. I really wanted to make the designs for guys and girls, a lot of the previous shirts were either for guys or for girls, you couldn't really mix it up. There will also be some dreamcatcher keychains and necklaces, maybe even some feather hair ties.
Q- Since it's almost summer concert season, are there any tours you'll be hanging around at where fans can meet you?
I'll be at all of the Texas Warped Tour dates, I'll get there early the day of and tweet my location and what bands I'll be seeing so the fans can come hang out with me and watch some friends perform. I think it's a great way to hang out with the fans and get to know them better. The fans are the people who allow me to do what I love and I really do want to meet every single one of them and thank them personally. It always makes my day getting tweets and emails from them! I also will be hanging out on another tour, but I don't think I can release that info yet!
Q- What do you think has been the biggest change and/or lesson you've learned through Love Translates since way back in November when we first started talking?
I think owning my own business when I started at 16 was a huge eye opener. Most girls my age were focused on what they were going to wear to their first high school dance, I was focused on sending in my LLC on time to get my name legally attached to my line. I think that owning your own business at such a young age really tests your patience and understanding of the real world. It's not all fun and games, you have to take into consideration where printing your shirts will be most productive, you have to take in details like pricing/quality/etc and then how much you have to price your shirts at to actually start making a profit. I think the biggest thing I learned was that it's okay to ask from help.
Q- Of course as Tune Into L's go to for fasion advice any new trends or looks you're looking at rocking this summer?
I have an odd style when it comes to fashion. Half of my closet is tank tops and the other half is either flannels or blouses. I really love a cute tank top under a rugged flannel with some Jeffrey Campbell shoes.
Q- Any new band/song obsessions?
I love Jason Reeves right now, all of his songs are amazing. I hate seeing artists as talented as himself so underrated, it's a slap in the face to ears that love music. I'm also digging The Maine's new album Black and White.
Q- Any thing else you'd like to share about Love Translates for the readers?
Love Translates is going to be coming back 10x better and teaming up with some great bands and solo artists. There will be collabs throughout the next year and I cannot wait for everyone to see what I've been working on for the past year! I hope to see some of you at Warped Tour, and if you don't live in/near Texas I'll be hanging out on another tour as well! See ya then.

For those of you who know me you probably know that I love pizza. I think I eat at least once a week so when I got the opportunity to try Freschetta's new Simply Inspired Pizza I was excited.

For the most part I destressed and slept. But for the few hours that I've been awake I spent a lot of time watching Rachael Ray.
If you're unfamiliar with her, Rachael is a popular cook from the Food Network Channel. Her list of accomplishments include her own magazine, several popular shows on Food Network including 30 Minute Meals and her day time talk show. Her quirky, bubbly personality has won over viewers and her fun approach to cooking has made her a staple in my household.
If you have a favorite recipe feel free to share it below. If not maybe you'll learn a new one!
...And if you have any suggestions on how to meet Rachael...they would also be greatly appreciated!
This post brought to you by TwoOfUs. All opinions are 100% mine.
I recently found a really cool website called Two Of Us. If you're looking for advice on any type of romantic relationship this is the site for you. The site has well organized tips on keeping your relationship fresh. And they seem to answer every and any question you'd ever want to know about relationships.
One feature in particular I like about this website are the videos from experts in the field of dating and relationships. These videos answered questions about stuff I had been looking for answers for for years like Do opposites really attracts and How to tell if my relationship will last. They every talk about things I didn't know existed like emotional cheating (who knew you could cheat on someone emotionally?).
One video in particular that I enjoyed was a video with actor Hill Harper. This video talks about how Harper's thoughts on misconceptions about marriages, men and family. The video series may be long, but it is well worth the few hours spent viewing the videos. A female viewer can get a view from the other side and a male viewer can get advice from a fellow man. Where else can you get free advice like this?
Make sure to check out the site www.twoofus.org and like them on facebook!
Check out the site and let me know what you think and also leave some comments below on what your most common relationship problems or questions are.

I'm a fan of the show The Voice I really am. There's just one little flaw in the plan that I'm waiting to see how it plays out.
For those unfamiliar with the show, The Voice, is NBC's new talent show where contestants are given the opportunity to sing in front of four big talents in the music industry- Christina Aguilera, Blake Shelton, Adam Levine, and Cee Lo Green. The twist is in that the four judges don't get to see the contestants during the auditions until after they decide whether they want the contestants on their team for the show.
This seems like a cool concept. By hiding a person's looks and identity in theory the show gives anyone regardless of looks, age, etc an opportunity to participate in the show. Thus the show is about the voice and not the looks.
Ok. That is an awesome idea. I love that people who would normally not have a chance at an entertainment career are getting that chance. But let's be realistic. How far are they really gonna get in a mainstream singing career without looks being a factor? Take contestant Frenchie Davis. Yeah. She has a killer voice. And the amazing voice took her pretty far on American Idol and helped her score a stint on Broadway in the musical Rent. And even Cee Lo knew who she was. She had the avenue to be something huge, but why wasn't she. She obviously wants to be something huge or else why would she keep going on these shows?
It might be cynical to say, but looks really are important for a career in entertainment. I really do hope that I'm wrong about this. I hope some average looking person makes it to the end and wins The Voice and goes on to a successful career, but I suppose we will see in time.
What do you think? Are looks important when you're listening to music or are looks unimportant?
Taylor Swift's new video for "Mean" dropped this week. Watch it below and let me know what you think.
Personally I love the appearance by Joey Little King (Ramona from Ramona and Beezus).

Q- What makes you different from every other musician out there?
Q- What song of yours would you recommend to someone who hasn’t listened to your music before?
Q- Who writes all your songs? Where do you get inspiration for the songs?
Q- What has been your biggest challenge so far as an artist?
That will be one hell of a task, but with the songs and song ideas we have thus far, I'm confident we'll overcome that challenge.
Q- What has been your favorite show to play and why?
I guess my favourite show so far was when we played for 4000 people in Berlin, Germany, supporting The Kooks last September. The crowd was awesome, although we were new to them, it was an open-air concert and everything just clicked.
Q- How do you get pumped up for a show?
Q- What’s your favorite and least favorite thing about performing?
Q- Who is someone you would like to tour with?
Q- Out of all the songs you've recorded/written which is your favorite?
Q- What do you hope you’re doing with your music/accomplishing in a year?
Q- Do you have any advice for someone who wants to pursue a career in music?
Q- What has been your weirdest experience with a fan?
Q-Who first inspired you to go after your dreams of music?
Q- What’s one quote or lyric that inspires you most?
Q- What’s something your fans don’t know about you?
Q- When writing a song what comes first the lyrics, the tune..etc?
Q- If you had to be any color crayon which color would you choose?Navy. Because I’m blue and I’m black and I like the ocean?
Q- Describe your ideal date?
Q- Any upcoming plans in the works for you we should know about?
Q- Anything else you’d like to include about the band?
Q- What’s your favorite flavor popsicle?
